The founder of Tamkang University, Clement Chang, hopes to repay to his hometown via the influence of tertiary education. After 10 years of pondering and planning, Lanyang Campus was finally established in 2005, following the educational mottos of several British prestigious universities, such as Oxford University and Cambridge University, and integrating local culture of Yilan. Lanyang Campus expects itself to be “the Garden of Wisdom” that links globally with universities in other countries.
Lanyang Campus is located around 40 hectares up on the hill in Jiaoxi Township of Yilan Couty. Lanyang Campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the Gueishan Island and the scenery presents in front of the the campus is the famous Gueishan Sunrise, comparable to Tamkang Sunset of the main campus.
